About Ribcap
The Ribcap concept was brought about by Swiss Designer Jürg Ramseier. Back in 1999, during an advanced training course for skiing instructors Jürg became aware of the increasing importance of head-gear protection in winter sport. After studying the disadvantages of bulky helmets Jurg began the development of a new kind of head protection – the Ribcap.
The Ribcap needed to be warm, good looking, flexible and have the ability to protect the head. A woollen beanie that, whilst not offering the same protection as a thick plastic cased helmet, offered much more than a normal beanie or hat. Jurg’s designs have gradually evolved using different materials and have eventually arrived at today’s innovative, lightweight breathable Ribcap impact protection beanie.
The current collection uses StructUre, a material exclusive to Ribcap, that provides all of the protective benefits of the previous designs but with a much lighter weight and breathable material. This results in today’s Ribcaps being the most comfortable head protection available.
